Precious hand-loomed eri or peace silk from India, woven on a hand-loom using fine machine-spun Eri silk yarn. The fabric has a smooth surface and has more body than our other eri silk, and has a beautiful gleam. Eri silk is made when the moth has been allowed to naturally emerge from the cocoon. There will be natural slubs and variations in the fabric, which is part of it's inherent charm. 55g per square metre, roughly equivalent to 13 momme weight. This silk has been pre-washed and is ready for dyeing.
